Philippines Asia Youth Bowling Doubles Bronze other results

BEA Hernandez and Nina de Vera bagged the bronze medal in girls doubles in the 19th Asian Youth Bowling Championships on Tuesday at the Coronado Lanes at Starmall in Mandaluyong. It was the first time the two had partnered up.

The Filipinas scored 2322, finishing 208 behind Yang Da Som and Lee Jung Min, who delivered South Korea’s third gold in four events in the tournament.

Singapore’s Charlene Lim and Jermaine Seah bagged the silver medal 2345.

“We were just concentrated on our game and refused to be bothered by the crowd,” said the 17-year-old Hernandez.

“All the hard work and sacrifice somehow paid off,” added De Vera.

“I am proud of these girls. Hindi sila bumigayeven it was their first international competition together,” said national girls coach Jojo Canare, beaming. “I hope this breakthrough will help us in the remaining events we have.”

“Bea told me last Monday after her poor outing ‘babawi ako dad,’ and I am so proud she did,” said Assistant Solicitor General Bernard Hernandez, who took time off from his busy schedule together with wife Myriam in watching her daughter perform and garner her first medal in international play

The Girls Block Team of Bea Hernandez, Nina De Vera, Daphne Custodio, and RJoy Daval-Santos missed out on the bronze in the Girls Block Team of Four finishing 5th with 4382 pts
