Sprinter Maurice Greene once said, “To be No. 1, you have to train like you’re No. 2.”

;

Make every effort you can to improve your performance.

Whether you’re on top or not.

Remembering to train hard includes being dedicated to your nutrition by using the most advanced food supplements available.

While these supplements may be beneficial, please consult a medical professional before using them.

PRE-WORKOUT SUPPLEMENTS

Pre-workout supplements are intended to provide energy and endurance during training sessions and athletic activities. Hence these supplements typically contain stimulants and other ingredients that may enhance muscular performance.

For instance, the main ingredient in many pre-workout supplements is caffeine. However, Caffeine can increase your energy levels.

And improve focus and physical performance and enhance your reaction time.

According to research from the October 2010 issue of the journal “Nutrition.”

Creatine is a naturally occurring amino acid that is found in meat. At the same time, you may not feel the beneficial effects of consuming creatine from food on occasion. Also, the supplementation of creatine regularly may enhance your sprint performance.

Hence creatine helps provide power to your muscles. And can aid you in training workouts and races? While research from the February 2002 issue of “Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.” Above all, it is also indicated that creatine supplementation can improve muscle strength, muscle endurance, and sprint performance.

WAXY MAIZE – Nutrition

Waxy maize is a type of corn that is sold in a powdered form. And it is rich in carbohydrates. At the same time, this provides your body with energy for activities. However, one advantage of waxy maize is that it is absorbed quickly by your body.

It helps you start the recovery process as quickly as possible. Also, waxy maize may help other nutrients, such as creatine, reach your muscles efficiently. Research from the October 2010 issue of “Nutrition” indicates that waxy maize supplementation may also increase fat breakdown during exercise.

;

AMINO ACIDS

Therefore research from the March 2011 issue of the “Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness” indicates that supplementation of the branched-chain amino acids, leucine, isoleucine, and valine, can improve endurance and burn off fat for energy.

      1. List of Supplements
      • AOR Zen Theanine
      • Bodyoctance by Man Sports
      • CEO Nutrabolics
      • Cordyceps
      • Citrulline Malate
      • Creatine
      • Dextrose
      • ETS from AtLarge Nutrition
      • IP6
      • L-Arginine
      • Piracetam
      • Sodium Bicarbonate
      • Taurine

.

      1. Citrulline Malate (less lactic acid; makes the Kreb’s Cycle more efficient. Also, I would really bump the BodyOctane since it provides CM and boosts muscle carnosine levels through the beta-alanine/histidine combination. At the same time, higher muscle levels of carnosine are directly correlated to better sprint performance. And elite sprinters tend to display higher above-avg. muscle concentrations of the stuff (1))
      2. IP6 (inositol hexaphosphate) (silly-versatile phosphate donor; enhances oxygen binding)

.

;2. Creatine

Creatine won’t improve full-out maximal performance. But, at the same time, it will improve performance with repeat maximal bouts of exertion. And this should enable you to train better and be stronger on your later events if you’re running 2-4 at a meet.

However, it should work well. So  I remember watching a program on Linford Christie, who was using this brand new controversial supplement.

Also, Christie went on to break the 100m world record and grab gold at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 at a ripe old age, taking advantage of the little-known substance at that time… our bodybuilding celebrity… drum-roll, please… Creatine Monohydrate.

Yet that was how the creatine craze began:

A nice read: http://www.abc.net.au/rn/talks/bbing/stories/s98916.htm

Therefore Creatine seems to work best by allowing a sprinter to maintain maximal power for longer… basically, you don’t die as fast.

3. Why not take Aspirin?

Ditch the aspirin.

However, it may interfere with protein synthesis and gains from workouts. For instance, Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen seem to do this as anti-inflammatories.

Also, aspirin may negate the arginine effect on NO.
