Lan Makes Olympic Semi-Final

2018 Asian Games 400m Hurdle Champion Quach Thi Lan luckily qualified for the Womens 400 Hurdles. The top 4 in each of the 5 heats and the next 5 automatically qualified for the women’s semi-finals.
The 25-year-old Quach who represents Vietnam finished fifth place in Heat 3 at 55.71 ( a bit behind her Southeast Asian record of 55.30). World Record Holder Sydney McLaughlin won Heat 1 in 54.65 a mere jog and nearly 3 seconds behind her 51.90 world record, ahead of Gianna Woodruff of Panama at 55.49, Sara Stott Peterson of Denmark at 55.52, Jamaica’s Leah Nugent who had placed 4th was dqed for infringement World athletics rule TR 17.3.1.
And with the top 4 to finals, Quach then was promoted to the Semi-Finals. She ranked 22nd based on times out of the 24 qualifiers. Dalilah Muhammad the former world record holder from the USA topped the qualifying with 53.97 to win heat 5, upcoming youngster Femke Bol of the Netherlands looked comfortable to win heat 4 in 54.43.
Other SEA Nations
Elsewhere among Southeast Asian athletes. Subenrat Insaeng of Thailand finished 14th in Group B in Discus and didnt progress to the finals.
Kieran Tuntivate of Thailand finished last in the Mens 10,000m Final in 29:01.
Nabila of Malaysia in the Womens 100m made it through the pre-heats in a new PB of 11.77 and then ran 11.91 in the opening heats, while Alvin Tuhpiroy after making it thru the pre-heats ran 11.92 in the opening heats.
Ernest Obiena of the Philippines made the final in the Mens Pole Vault.

Thị Lan ra mắt thành tích duy nhất cho năm 2020 với thời gian 55,98 để vô địch SEA Games Trials Việt Nam (14/11).
Cô đã đánh bại đối thủ lâu năm của mình là Nhà vô địch SEA Games 3x và Kỷ lục gia SEA Games Nguyễn Thị Huyền. Thất bại lần thứ hai trước Huyền sau khi đánh bại cô ở nội dung 400 mét.

Nguyễn Thị Huyền đã cải thiện tốt nhất mùa giải của mình từ 1,01 lên 57,54, giành vị trí số 2 trong Bảng xếp hạng Đông Nam Á .
Nhà vô địch giải trẻ ĐNÁ 2017 Lê Thị Hồng Hân giành HCĐ với tỷ số 1: 01.26.
Thị Lan là nhà vô địch Asian Games 2018 sau khi Kemi Adekoya, người đầu tiên vượt qua ranh giới bị cấm thi đấu cho Stanozolol .
Quách bấm giờ 55,30 ở đó nhưng đó là trước khi thời gian thi đấu vòng loại bắt đầu cho Thế vận hội nên cô sẽ phải chạy lại. 55,30 là Kỷ lục gia Việt Nam.
Thực tế là cô ấy đã chạy nó có nghĩa là cô ấy có khả năng chạy lại nó, đặc biệt là kể từ cuộc đua đầu tiên của cô ấy là 55,98.

Đặt tay cho các vị trí khác trong 4 × 400 là Nguyễn Thị Hằng và Nguyễn Thị Oanh . Cả hai đều chạy 54 lần thứ hai.
Oanh không khỏi bối rối trước người chạy cự ly trùng tên.
Hằng có thành tích cá nhân là 53,29 trong khi Oanh đạt 52,63 ở hạng mục đàn em hồi năm 2015. Cô đạt 52,98 khi 17 tuổi vào năm 2013.
Cả hai cô gái thực sự nên vào trong phạm vi 52 giây để mang lại cho Việt Nam một sự thống trị đáng gờm trong các lần vượt rào 400, 400, 4 × 4 và 4 × 4.

Quách Thị Lan, 25, is the closest to qualifying for any athlete in Vietnam.
These were the words of my good friend Vinh Khang an avid follower and subject matter expert on Vietnamese Athletics.
Thị Lan needs to run 55.40 for women’s 400 Hurdles from December 1 to June 29. To land a spot in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Quách Thị Lan launched her only performance for 2020 with a time of 55.98. To win the Vietnam SEA Games Trials (November 14).a
She beat her long-time rival 3x SEA Games Champion and SEA Games Record Holder Nguyen Thi Huyen. She was dealing a second defeat to Huyen after beating her in the 400-meter event.
Nguyen Thi Huyen improved her season-best from 1.01 to 57.54, taking the #2 spot in Southeast Asia Rankings.
2017 SEA Youth Champion Lê Thị Hồng Hân took the bronze in 1:01.26.
Thị Lan is the 2018 Asian Games Champion after Kemi Adekoya, who crossed the line first, was banned for Stanozolol.
Quách Thị Lan timed 55.30 there. But before the qualifying period began for the Olympics, she will have to rerun it. Nevertheless, 55.30 is the Vietnamese National Record.
She has run; it means she can rerun it mostly since her first race was 55.98.

Quách Thị Lan, 25, turned the tables on 3x SEA Games Champion Nguyễn Thị Huyền. She was winning the Women’s 400-meter dash narrowly from 52.46 to 52.49. On Day 2 of the Vietnamese National SEA Games qualifiers.
The 5’9 Quách tumbled exhausted to the ground, narrowly pipping the fast-finishing Nguyễn Thị Huyền.
She was the 2018 Asian Games Champion in 400 Hurdles. After Kemi Adekoya of Bahrain, who crossed the line first tested positive for Stanozolol.
Quách had led the 2020 SEA Rankings with 53.12 a few months ago.
However, she improved her #1 ranking with Nguyễn Thị Huyền Toward grabbing the #2 spot.
Putting their hands for the other spots in the 4×400 were Nguyễn Thị Hằng and Nguyễn Thị Oanh. They both ran 54 seconds times.
Oanh, not to be confused by the distance runner that goes by the same name.
Hang holds a personal best of 53.29, while Oanh ran 52.63 as a junior in 2015. Having run 52.98 as a 17-year-old in 2013.
Both Girls really should get into the 52-second range. To give Vietnam a formidable dominance in 400, 400 Hurdles, 4×4, and 4×4 mixed relays.
