Nenita Dungca

Nenita Dungca was born on 24 December 1965.

She clocked 56.69 in 400m at the ASEAN Cup in 1984.

The Highlight of her career came the following year in 1985 when she broke the Philippine Record in 800m with a time of 2:07.01 at the SEA Games in Bangkok. Lucena Alam had previously held the record at 2:11.48. This mark stood as the Philippine Record for 31 years until it was eclipsed by Fil-Heritage athlete Jessica Lyn Barnard. Leading up to this performance Nenita Dungca had won the Merdeka Games in the same year.

After losing to her great rival Marietta Tabangin at 800 in the 1987 National Open in Davao City. Dungca was not able to land in the top 3 a the 87 SEA Games. However, she bounced back at the 1989 SEA Games at Kuala Lumpur with a bronze in the 400m (56.99).

Tacuyan married former national Boxing Coach Orlando Tacuyan Sr.. Her son Rolando Tacuyan went onto represent the Philippines in Boxing.
