17 year old, Lythe Pillay clocks 45.74 seconds in 400m!!!
South Africa’s Lythe Pillay has clocked a time of 45.74 at the age of 17. Pillay clocked it 5 days before his 18th Birthday on the 25th. His previous best was 46.26 as a 16-year-old in 2019. Between 2018 and 2019, he improved just over 3 seconds, 49.42 to 46.26s.
Pillay time is the fastest time in 2021 so far for Open Men as well.
However, the favorite for World Juniors will probably be American Justin Robinson, who has clocked 44.91 last August. Robinson is a year older than Pillay.
Andrew was elected Vice President of the Association of Track and Field Statisticians in 2020 after being a member for 7 years.
He has worked as a PSC Consultant and Research Assistant from 2013-2015, Consultant, and Sprint Coach at Zamboanga Sports Academy from 2015-2017.
Current editor and chief of Pinoyathletics.info, and has recently done consultancy work for Ayala Corp evaluating the Track and Field Program.
