Philippines 2016 Athlete of the Year Male Junior Athlete of the Year – Feberoy Kasi (100m)
While no National Junior records were broken in 2016, 17-year old Feberoy Kasi of Cotabato had the most impressive performance.
Feberoy clocked 10.75 to shatter the Palaro Record of Jomar Udtohan (10.8ht).
His performance was just .01 off the National Junior record of 2012 Junior MVP Athlete Daniel Noval (10.74).
Feberoy also happens to be trained by former Olympic Long Jumper Henry Dagmil. Also worth an honorable mention is Francis Obiena, who leaped 4.06m to break the Palaro Record in the Boys Pole Vault. From the famous Obiena family. Francis was able to do something that eluded his very accomplished cousin Ernest John, winning the Palaro Gold.
