Kapiti College School Records still intact
It’s good to see my Western Zone; Wellington Records still intact. I checked out the College Sport Wellington Website the other day. And found in the most recent edition of the Western Zone Wellington High school meet (10 schools), my records are still there.
My records for 12-13-year-old boys and 14-15-year-old boys 100 Meters still stand. I have very fond memories of this meeting and my days representing Kapiti College. Going from #2 in my age group to #1 in the school for all ages by the end of my first year.
The 100 Meter records are now 18 (1998) and 16 (2000) years old each.
The Marks are 11.65 and 10.88 (both hands timed). The 10.88 was 3 stopwatches 10.88, 10.88, 10.94.
In 2001 Arthur Nyel (Naenae College) was able to run 11.75; that’s the closest anyone got the 100 Meter 12-13-year-old boys record.
In Under 16 recalls in 2001, my teammate Pascal Leninston (Kapiti College) was able to clock 11.05 and get close to my record. Since then, nobody has gained close at all. Even Sam Fogel (Scots College), who became a silver medalist at the National High School champs and clocked the best time of 10.67, was not close to this march.
