Jonelle Halog beats a long time PB with 10.78 100m
26 Year Old Filipino-Canadian Jonelle Halog broke his PB from 4 years ago with 10.78 seconds to win the Ottawa Twilight Meet #13 in Canada. Halog was born in Davao to two Filipino Parents, has held a Filipino passport, and ran in the Weekly Relays for Team Airforce Alliance in 2015 (see below).
Halog who stands at just 5’4, finished 2nd in his heat, narrowly behind Christopher Chavannes 10.92 to 10.94 (-0.2). Halog then stormed back to win the final from Chavannes and everyone else in a new PB of 10.78 (-1.0). Previously Halog PB was 10.79 (+1.9) from 6th July 2017. He also clocked a wind-aided 10.70 (+3.9) that year aswell.
Halog was the former National Junior Record Holder over 60m. The Performance moves Halog from #3 to #2 on the Philippine 2021 Ranking Lists. With Fil-am Nolan Crespo with 10.76 and Jerome Sarinas of Butuan 10.93, the only two Filipinos to run under 11 seconds in Covid Ravaged 2021.
All 3 above have never been members of the National Team or represented the Philippines as of yet.

Former National Junior 60m Record Holder Fil-Canadian Jonelle Halog became the third Filipino in 2021 to break under 11 seconds in the Mens Century Dash.
Halog clocked 10.94 (+0.4) to place third in his heat and 10.95 (+0.4) to fifth in the final on July 10 at the Ottawa Lions Twilight Meet.
Halog has 2 Filipino parents and was born in Davao City, and already holds a Filipino passport.
He is no stranger to Philippine soil, having competed in the 2015 Weekly Relays for the Philippine Airforce Alliance Team, at which time he clocked 10.95.
The 26-year-old Halog has a PB of 10.79 (+1.9) and 10.70 (+3.9) set in Canada in 2017.
Crespo, a student at UC San Diego, has run 10.76 and 10.88 in meets in the United States and is preparing for more non-college meets. Salinas clocked 10.93 to win the Pinoyathletics Mindanao Track League at Butuan.
