Emily Obiena upgrades her Philippine Junior Pole Vault Record

Joining Ernest Obiena in Italy, last month were his two training partners. Emily Obiena and Riezel Buenaventura. In preparation for their 2017 SEA Games stint in Kuala Lumpur in a few week’s time.

Emily, 19 the younger sister of EJ upgraded her Filipino Junior Record from 3.40m to 3.45m at meet in Orvieto on July 21, 2017.  Obiena who studies at UST improved her 3.40m Junior Record set last year in Singapore. Obiena won the meet and Riezel was second on that occasion in 3.40m.

Meanwhile, her training partner Riezel Buenaventura the 2015 SEA Games Bronze medalist leaped 3.60m on July 28 at Orvieto to tie her bronze medal mark from the 2015 Singapore SEA Games.  With Emily leaping 3.30m.
