Consuela Lacusong was born in 1947.

On June 22, 1975, she set the Filipino National Record in the Women’s Shotput of 13.92m, at the national open in Cebu City. This performance stood as the Filipino Record for 47 years and was not broken until February 3, 2023, by Fil-Heritage athlete Shiloh Corrales-Nelson.

The 5’10 Lacusong was a three-time Southeast Asian Games medalist. In 1977 and 1983 she won silver, and in 1981 she won bronze with a score of 12.92 m.

After her career ended, she took a clerical job at Fort Bonifacio. Due to diabetes, her leg was amputated. Her friends managed to raise money for a prosthetic leg, which allowed Lacusong to keep her job.

She was married to Manuel and had two children. She died in March 2005 at the age of 58.
