Claro Pellosis

Pellosis worked for many years as a coach and instructor to students and PE Teachers. A one-time head coach of PATAFA.

He wrote the programs for Tatang De Vega for Lydia De Vega. He shared close friendship with Michael Keon and was invited to help with the Ilocos Norte Sports Program when Keon became Governor of that province. In later years he worked as a Chief Technical official.

I am personally honored that I was the last athlete that Claro helped. He was coaching me from late 2001 to Mid 2002. From him, I learned how to run the curve.

Skills he had undoubtedly passed on from his coach, the Great Ruperto Evangelista.

I passed on all he taught me to my athletes when I became a coach later on.

Claro, even well into his 80s, was a very active technical official and met a consultant. A fire in 2003 at the family house in Paco and the passing of good friends and his wife were setbacks.

Claro was very fond of sharing his knowledge with the young athletes and also playing bingo. Claro died after a cardiac arrest while having lunch with his family. Rushing Claro to Manila Doctors hospital where attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
