Mondo Armand Duplantis soared to a world lead of 6.10m in Belgrade, Serbia
The Swede passed 5.60m in his second attempt, then cleared 5.80, 6m, and 6.10m at the first.
After setting a new 2021 world-leading mark, the Swede asked to raise the bar to 6.19m, 1cm over his world record but failed his first attempt before deciding to call it a day.
2019 world bronze medallist Piotr Lisek of Poland and the reigning Olympic champion Thiago Braz from Brazil completed the podium, both finishing at 5.70m.
There are now 3 guys over 6 meters in 2021 so far. Former World Record Holder Renaud Lavillenie of France 6.06m and KC Lightfoot one day younger than Duplantis of the USA joins the 6 meters club with 6.00m. For a Full review of Olympic qualifiers visit here
Armand Duplantis sets a New World Outdoors Record at Rome Diamond League
Armand Duplantis set a new Outdoors World Record clearing 6.15m at the 2020 Rome Diamond League. Duplantis broke a 26-year-old mark of Sergey Bubka 6.14m set in Sestriere Italy on 31 July 1994.
He also erased the meet record of Bubka which was 5.94m and stood even longer set way back in 1984. Performing a new Diamond League, New National Record, improving on his 6.07m world lead (Lausanne, Sept 2 Diamond League).
Armand Duplantis also holds the world indoor record at Pole Vault at 6.18m. Armand Duplantis is unbeaten in 2020.

It was the same 1-2-3 finishing order just like in the Monaco Diamond League. With 2017 European U23 Champion Ben Broeders of Belgium again coming second on countback as he did in Monaco. Broeders leaped 5.80m a New National Record.

World University Games and Asian Champion Ernest John Obiena of the Philippines as in Monaco was third behind Broeders again on countback this time with a 5.80m Seasons Best. Just 1 cm off his national and southeast Asian Record.
Obiena again finished ahead of Former World Record Holder Renaud Lavellenie of France who he bested at the Ostrava Golden Spike a few days ago. Lavellenie leaped 5.70m for fourth place.

Armand Duplantis Breaks own world record in Pole Vault
Armand Duplantis reinforced his status as being at the vanguard of athletics’ new wave of super talents by breaking the world pole vault record for the second time in a week at the Glasgow Grand Prix.
Above all The way the 20-year-old Armand Duplantis cleared 6.18m – easily beating the mark he set in Poland last week – to earn another $30,000 bonus from World Athletics suggested there will be plenty more paycheques coming his way.

Armand Duplantis sets new World Record in Pole Vault

Armand Mondo Duplantis, a 20-year-old Swede raised in Louisiana. Broke a six-year-old record in the pole vault at an indoor meet on Saturday.
Duplantis cleared 6.17 meters — or 20 feet and nearly 3 inches — in Torun, Poland.
“It’s something that I wanted since I was 3 years old,” the dual citizen Mondo Duplantis said, according to World Athletics. “It doesn’t feel like it’s really happening right now. It kind of feels fake, this whole thing, like I didn’t actually break the world record like there’s a catch to it or something.”
However, France’s Renaud Lavillenie held the previous overall record of 6.16 meters, set at an indoor meet in Ukraine in 2014. Ukrainian legend Sergey Bubka holds the outdoor world record of 6.14 meters, set in 1994.
Duplantis, the world silver medalist, took three attempts at a world record at an indoor meet on Tuesday.
In contrast he and American Sam Kendricks, the two-time reigning world champion. Traded head-to-head wins in the last year and are the Tokyo Olympic favorites. Kendricks broke an 18-year-old U.S. indoor record by clearing 6.01 meters at a different meet Saturday.
Above all Mondo Duplantis is bidding to become the youngest Olympic pole vault champion since 1932, according to the OlyMADMen.
Andrew was elected Vice President of the Association of Track and Field Statisticians in 2020 after being a member for 7 years.
