Filipino Athletes over 4.20m

Article by Andrew Pirie ATFS Statistician

With consultation from the Philippine Pole Vault Club (PPVC)

Please note we have now discontinued the 4 Meter Club but it had over 70 athletes, including 3 female athletes Uy, Samson, and Nicolas over 4 meters. We have decided with the rise in Philippine Pole Vault performances the new benchmark henceforth will be increased to 4.20m.

Please email any corrections and amendments to [email protected] for certain performances

Previous Information Archived

As requested by National Pole Vault Coach Emerson Obiena. Most noteworthy is a list of every single athlete of Filipino Heritage who has cleared over 4.00m.  So now over 60 men are in this comprehensive list. To Be Eligible for the list the Athlete must be a citizen of the Philippines or a dual citizen with a valid Filipino Passport upon the time of performance.  Athletes of Filipino blood with no Filipino passport have been subtracted from this listing.

As we may need to check with PATAFA and other keepers of official results to verify performances.

Please note also one Filipina Deborah Samson (Fil-Heritage) has cleared over 4.00m as well. While the Philippine National Record is 4.11m. Deborah cleared 4.12m before representing the Philippines.

*UPDATED After Consultation with the Obiena I have added new Athletes to 4 meters + Club
