24 CONFIRM SCHOOLS 2017 UNIGAMES Dumaguete

DUMAGUETE CITY – Twenty four colleges and universities have already confirmed their participation in the 2017 University Games (UniGames). Slated on October 22 to 28 in Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental.

Roger A. Banzuela, Uni Games President said there are ten sports disciplines to be contested in different venues. Hosted by the province of Negros Oriental. And co-hosted by the City of Dumaguete.

He said that within less than a month. He hopes other schools to confirm their participation. This year’s theme is “The Games that bring us together for Unity and Peace”.

The ten sports event are:

  1. athletics to be played at Perdices Coliseum;
  2. badminton at The Riverside Courts;
  3. basketball at Lamberto Macias Sports Center
  4. chess at Negros Oriental Convention Center
  5. men football at Perdices Coliseum
  6. men sepak takraw (best regu) at Foundation University blue gym
  7. table tennis at Negros Oriental Convention Center
  8. taekwondo at Foundation University or Robinsons place
  9. volleyball at Foundation University Gym, Valencia Gym, or Barangay Talay Covered Gym as reserved;
  10. men and women beach volleyball at Rizal Boulevard n Dumaguete City.

Already confirmed their participation are:

  1. Adamson University for men volleyball;
  2. Arellano University for men and women volleyball;
  3. Cebu Institute of Technology University for men volleyball;
  4. Colegio De Sta. Ana de Victorias for men basketball;
  5. De La Salle-College of St. Benilde-Manila for men athletics, men football and men and women volleyball;
  6. De La Salle University-Manila for women chess, men football and men and women volleyball.
  7. Foundation University for men basketball, football, sepak takraw, men and women volleyball, and beach volleyball;
  8. Hercor College of Roxas City for men basketball;
  9. Holy Angel University-Pampanga for men basketball, men and women chess, men and women taekwondo, and men volleyball;
  10. Jose Maria College of Davao City for men basketball and men and women chess and women beach volleyball;

Already confirmed their participation are:

  1. Mindanao State University-Tawi-Tawi for men and women beach volleyball;
  2. National University for football, men and women table tennis; Riverside College for men and women badminton and women taekwondo.
  3. Rizal Technological University-Mandaluyong for men and women athletics, men and women basketball; sepak takraw; men and women table tennis and men taekwondo;
  4. St. Louis University-Baguio City for men chess and sepak takraw;
  5. St. Theresa College of Tandag for men athletics, men basketball, and men and women taekwondo;
  6. STI West Negros University- Bacolod City for men chess;
  7. The University of Mindanao-Davao City for men and women volleyball and beach volleyball;
  8. University of Mindanao Tagum College-Tagum City for men and women volleyball and beach volleyball;
  9. The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos for men volleyball and women beach volleyball;
  10. University of Perpetual Help System-DALTA- Las Piñas for men and women volleyball;
  11. The University of San Jose-Recoletos- Cebu City for men basketball;
  12. The University of Sto. Tomas for men and women athletics, men and women volleyball and women beach volleyball.
  13. And re-entry of the University of St. La Salle for men athletics, women basketball, football, men and women table tennis, men and women volleyball and men beach volleyball. They failed to join the last holding of the games.

Banzuela said the billeting center of different schools is

  1. West Elementary Schools,
  2. South Elementary Schools,
  3. Batting Elementary School, Magsaysay
  4. Memorial Elementary School,
  5. Junob Elementary School,
  6. Camanjac Elementary School
  7. North City Elementary School.
