2023 SCUAA NCR Results
RTU dominated the Men’s and Women’s Athletics events at the 2023 SCUAA NCR meet, claiming the title of overall champion.
In the Women’s 100/200m sprints, Dessirie Falcutin from RTU, originally from Romblon, clocked impressive times of 12.5 and 27.1, respectively. Her male counterpart, Oliver Laminatao, also from RTU, finished strong with times of 11.0 and 22.5 in the same events.
Sarah Nas, another RTU athlete, clinched victory in the girl’s 100 Hurdles with a time of 15.8. Liza Umali of RTU took home the Women’s Long Jump title with a 5.08m mark, edging out Earist’s Jemilyn Madriaga on countback, who also recorded the same distance. Umali also triumphed in the Women’s Triple Jump with a 10.80m leap.
Falcutin and Nas were instrumental in RTU’s 4×100 relay team, which clocked a time of 50.0, ranking them 4th in the Philippine national standings. PUP secured the silver medal with a commendable time of 50.9. The RTU men’s team also showcased their prowess, winning with a score of 432.
Former FEU athlete Rollie Olivarez, now representing RTU, won the Men’s Triple Jump with a 14.36m leap and narrowly trailed his teammate Eron Remo in the Long Jump, registering 6.70m to Remo’s 6.75m.
Noribelle Lagunay from PUP won the Women’s 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:07.8, while Mac James Angorin of RTU took the Men’s 800m title in 1:59.2. In the Javelin event, RTU’s Ronalyn Reyes and Blessie De Guzman secured the top two spots.
The National SCUAA championship is set to take place at Tarlac Agricultural University this coming October.
