100m Ramos Returns

In what can be described as a veterans’ Move 25-year-old Rocky Ramos the 2021 Philippines National Silver Medalist in the 100m, took a shocking surprise win over his two younger training partners. Ramos stopped the clock at 10.77, the quickest time he had run since before the pandemic. Ramos who showed flashes of brilliance in 2021-2022 against the likes of national athletes Clinton Bautista and Anfernee Lopena showed a return to form after months of lingering injuries.
He beat his two training partners Guhan Garcia the 2022 National Silver medalist in 200m who clocked a PB of 10.83, and Gio De Vera who was silver in the Weekly Relay Finals 100m also in a PB of 10.85.
The 3 athletes are students at VMUF (part of PRISAA) and have been training with the Pinoy Athletics program since 2021.
A delighted Ramos imparted his message
“for a moment , i stopped dreaming and I never thought that i can step on top of this podium once again . but because of the people who never stopped believing . those who supported and ignite the fire in me . I’M BACK that’s why I’m thankful my vmuf coaches . vmuf fam. coach Enzo Williams . Ace Mabait . family . specially up there ☝️ this is win is for all of you”
