After a 3 year Hiatus, several early qualifying rounds for the 2023 Palarong Pambansa rolled out across the country. While most of these are on dirt tracks, and these performances cant be considered valid. What was very legitimate today was the Nashtastic performance of Nash Candelario. Nash is the son of double SEA Games 400m Champion Ernie Candelario 2001/2003 who also happens ot be his coach.
Representing Adamson University, Nash won the Secondary Boys 100 and 200 at the 2023 Manila Meet at Phil Sports Pasig City staged on 16-17 February. Nash had a comfortable win over 2022 National Schools 200m Champion Aryan Kevin Pionato of UST. A race in which Nash fell over towards the end and could not finish the race.
