Gennah Malapit closes in on Philippine Junior Record

Young Javelin Thrower Gennah Malapit of Rizal Province hurled the Javelin to a new PB of 45.60m at the Calabarzon Regional Athletic meet yesterday. This was the highlight of the 2023 Calabarzon event held in Dasmarinas City.
Her massive throw came on her last throw on what was already a very hot midday sun.
Malapit’s performance improved on her PB of 45.19m where she placed 3rd last month at the PATAFA SEA Games Trials at Pasig. A testament to the hard work of her coach Mr. Ericson San Juan of Roman Tantionco Memorial National High School in Morong Rizal.
Her massive throw was just 14cm away from the National Junior Record of Fil-Heritage Athlete Cerah Ellen Moren of 45.74m set on June 11, 2017, in San Mateo. Moren has held a Filipino Passport since 2014.
