2022 CARAGA Results
Shaenrae Pahamotang who ran the 5000m in PinoyAthletics Mindanao Track League. Steps down to the sprints and clocks 11.67 (video time) on dirt.
The first few frames are missing so it’s probably around an 11.80ish run. 2nd 11.90, 3rd 12.00 add about .15 due to missing frame onto these times.
It was baffling why the DEPED in CARAGA decided to hold the 2022 CARAGA Regional qualifying meet on a dirt track in Tandag. Rather than use one of two standard rubberized ovals at Surigao City or Prosperidad. From what I was told the DEPED didn’t seem to care about qualifying for Palaro (May 29 in Iloilo) and just wanted to get the meet finished and over as quickly as possible.
Not surprisingly the slower dirt tracks and lack of athlete preparation led to a winning time of 15.00 seconds (video) in the Girls Secondary 100m. Which is more than two seconds away from the Palaro qualifying mark of 12.73.
To make matters worse some of the stronger athletes were either not informed about the event or told it was canceled. So consequently due to the confusion missed out on the event altogether.
PinoyAthletics is proposing the event be replayed on a rubberized track oval as not surprisingly no athletes got close to Palaro 2022 qualifying standards as we cannot accept any performances here due to inaccuracies with timing.
