2019 Philippines University Games The Rise of Jessa ‘Bear Nose’ Jarder
Only 4th at the Palaro in 2016. Jessa Mae Tianga Jarder faded into virtual obscurity the past 3 years.
Part of UST clean sweep at the 2019 University Games.
A virtual nobody on the radar of the 2019 UAAP.
Jarder has now put herself in as one of the Gold’s favorites in 3 months.
Jarder topped the heats with a PB of 57.5 (official HT) and then extended a more dominating lead over Catherine Manese of UP.
With 57.4 to 58.7.
Extending her 1 sec lead over Manese in the heats to 1.3 secs in the final.
Jarder was part of a new crop of UST athletes.
The UST girls swarmed the golds at the 2019 Uni Games in Iloilo like locusts sweeping sprints, middle, relays, and jumps.
What could very well see the UST Tigers returning as UST Women’s Champions in 2019?

THE RETURN OF MASTER SPEECH!
Iloilo, University Games of the Philippines
Although her PB and Palaro record of 2:12.27 was four long years ago in Tagum. Jieann Calis had a resurgence of sorts taking the University Games Title from SEA Games bound Marisol Amarga.
Jie Anne Prestoza Calis of UST wins the 800m in 2:14, beating Marisol Amarga of UP 2:18.
Amarga clocked 2:13.98 on Sept 1 at Clark beating Louielyn Cabuga Pamatian (2.15) and Jieann (2.18).
