2014 PRISAA Results April 6-11
Please note these performances are unofficial and not recognized as sanctioned by the PATAFA. Also are not eligible for official rankings and Records. Hence uncertified timekeeping should not be considered for the selection of the national team/training pool. Most noteworthy there are currently no official established records for this meet.
The stand-out performance of the meet so far was 5.71m by Jaycel Casablanca. Yet the 20-year-old Casabuenca from Capiz who gave birth last year was a former Hurdler. Hence after opening with 5.41m at the WV PRISAA improved again to 5.71m which is the season-leading performance for 2014.
Meanwhile, in the high school Girls, Kimberly Zulueta of DLSU Bacolod ran the 2nd= fastest time for High school girls this year which will put her in interesting contention at Palaro with Diesto of Bacolod (12.4) and Karen Janario (12.5) of Leyte.
Also, it was a very impressive season-leading win for Johan Caido of the University of Baguio. Yet despite an injury earlier this year, Caido defended his title. Hence he narrowly held off National Junior Champion Ryan Bigyan of Lyceum of Batangas in a time of 48.6 seconds. While the two 20-year-olds will both be in action in a very competitive men’s 400m at the Philippine National Games May 17-22.

Ryan ‘The Duck’ Bigyan and break the PRISAA 4×400 Record (Video)
While Ryan ‘The Duck’ Bigyan (Lyceum Batangas) straight after his win in the Men’s 200m (21.8 seconds), helped his team Calabarzon to set a new PRISAA Record in the 4×400. Also, 20-year-old Bigyan known as ‘The Duck’ is the National Junior Champion and co-Junior Record Holder in the 400m dash.
Hence the Calabarzon team who set another record was composed of Ryan Bigyan, Jeffrey Buhay, Jay Roland Pactor, and Marco Vilog from the Lyceum of the Philippines University in Batangas.
While with a sounding 3:19.99 (minutes) the Calabarzon team rugged all their opponents and beat another Calabarzon team’s 3:23.4 (minutes) record made in 1993. Hence they grabbed gold Wednesday at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex.
*Previously reported there were no PRISAA Records but now it has been brought to my attention that there are. I would appreciate a copy sent to pinoyathletics@gmail.com
